Copy Director + Writer

About

hi.

I’m a copy director, writer, and author living in the Catskill Mountains of New York. I started out as an intern for NYLON Magazine and worked with media outlets like Marie Claire and Real Simple before joining Walmart-owned Jet.com to develop its e-commerce brand voice while launching its own private label of household and food products. Having freelanced as Pat McGrath’s personal copywriter, I knew my absolute goal was to create a niche for myself within the beauty and skincare space. I excitedly joined Clinique as the team’s Director of Copy & Brand Voice, refreshing the iconic brand’s tone in a more inclusive beauty landscape. I concepted, oversaw, and executed global campaign messaging, product and shade naming, visual merchandising, email marketing, editorial, and social – including launching the brand’s first-ever celebrity brand ambassador, Emilia Clarke.

Energized by all the new DTC beauty brands, I became a freelance copy consultant in 2019, and have since partnered with dream brands to develop brand voice, product naming and launches, email and social campaigns, SEO blog strategy, and more. From working with start-ups like Ever/Body, Herbivore, and LOLA, to household names like bumble & bumble and MAC Cosmetics, and agencies like FKA under Publicis Groupe, I’ve loved every step of the way (and every swipe of mascara).

In addition to my career in advertising, I also write fiction. My short stories and essays have appeared in Slate, Catapult, Shortwave, Witches Magazine, Insider, and more. I’m an alum of Pitch Wars and the Tin House Workshop, and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. I am currently represented by literary agent Victoria Marini and am working on my first novel.
